Statement of Qualifications

VDE Americas provides technical advisory and risk mitigation services to owners, financiers, project developers, operators, equipment providers, and insurance companies working on large solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) transactions.

Founded in 2013, VDE Americas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the VDE Group, one of the largest technology organizations in Europe. Our goal is to advance the deployment of clean energy projects that are financeable and insurable. Between 2016 and 2022, VDE America supported funding for over 5 GW of operating solar projects in the U.S.—or about 10% of the utility-scale PV project capacity fielded during that time. We are the world’s leading specialist in hail risk analysis for utility-scale solar projects.

VDE Americas' provides solar project hail risk assessments based on site-specific meteorological data and product-specific technical details. Our science- and engineering-based hail risk reports provide solar project stakeholders with financial loss and risk exposure estimates based on project-specific lat-long coordinates and fielded PV module and tracker technologies.
