Dr. Britta Buchholz appointed to BMWK Expert Advisory Board

The Chairwoman of the Power Engineering Society within VDE (VDE ETG) will advise the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) on the management of the 8th Energy Research Program in future. Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck appoints Buchholz as a member of the ten-person advisory board for the ministry's 8th energy research program.

(Frankfurt a. M., 16.10.2024) The expert advisory board is made up of ten renowned experts from science and industry. According to the ministry, the new energy research program focuses on concrete research goals as contributions to accelerating the transformation of the energy system. The aim is to quickly put results into practice. The objectives are divided into five missions: Research for a resilient and efficient energy system, heat transition, electricity transition, a sustainable hydrogen economy and transfer to the economy and society.

Dr. Britta Buchholz has been Chairwoman of the Power Engineering Society within VDE (VDE ETG) since 2023. She holds a degree in industrial engineering and a doctorate in electrical engineering and has been committed to the transformation of the energy system for over 25 years. As Vice President Active Distribution Grids at Hitachi Energy Germany, she works with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for energy transformation. As Chairwoman of the scientific association ETG, Buchholz wants to contribute to connecting science and industry as well as generations and to shaping the future together.
