UK adjusts regulations on UKCA for importers

Only recently, the transition period for the recognition of the CE mark for market entry in the United Kingdom was extended to the end of 2024. Now the British government has decided to extend the transition period indefinitely.

Manufacturers will therefore continue to be permitted to place products bearing only the CE marking on the UK market beyond December 31, 2024. The CE marking, the EU declaration of conformity and the EU type examination will be treated as alternatives to the corresponding UK elements even after the end of 2024.

The UKCA label may still be attached to the product "provisionally". This is possible, for example, via the corresponding marking in the operating instructions, an additional label or similar. If the UKCA mark is permanently affixed to the product itself, the requirements are comparable to those for the CE mark.
