On June 2, 2021 , we already issued information concerning the VDE GS mark and the connections to the update of the EU regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 by (EU) 1245/2020.
Today we would like to inform you about the VDE certification mark approvals (without GS mark) that are related to the aforementioned EU regulations.
When Regulation (EU) No. 1245/2020 comes into force on September 23, 2020, we will adapt VDE certification mark approvals to the new requirements in terms of content and testing.
What influence does the EU regulation have on VDE certification mark approvals (without GS mark)?
First of all, we would like to point out that products that were first placed on the market before March 23, 2021 may still be placed on the market unchanged until September 22, 2022, until stocks are exhausted.
- Your existing VDE certification mark approval (without GS mark) will remain valid beyond September 22, 2022 if no changes are made to the product or certification mark approval.
- In case of changes to the product or certification mark approval, we will request via offer/order confirmation that you provide us with a test or conformity certificate regarding the aforementioned EU regulation.
- Should you be unable to provide this proof, we will be pleased to submit an offer for conformity testing of the relevant materials.
- As an alternative to the test certificate or proof of conformity, a signed manufacturer's declaration can also be submitted if necessary.
