This years’ event did not disappoint with a wide selection of seminars covering cell production, battery safety, system design, recycling, testing, production, and market related talks. A highlight was the World Market review by BMZ who ran through the current points of interest affecting the battery and energy storage sector. In his tutorial, Dr. Jochen Mähliß from VDE Renewables gave an introduction to the basics of lithium-ion batteries: from the raw materials, their price development, active materials used and new developments, to functionality, structure, hazards, handling and storage. This training course with its selected focal points can also be booked as an online or face-to-face seminar
VDE Renewable’s Arne Grünewald presented on the upcoming battery regulation, that will affect the production and sale of batteries in the EU in the coming years. In case you missed it, we are offering an in depth look into this in our seminars coming up at the end of November, and in March 2024. More info on these is available here.
If recyclability and second life use is high on your agenda, Patrick Zank’s talk on Battery 2nd Life uses supplied detailed information on VDE Renewable’s work with our partners on how to repurpose EV Batteries. Our post project wrap-up on the EMILAS Project features information on this via this link Here.
Feedback from our exhibition stand visitors confirmed trust in VDE's quality assurance and appreciation for the personal contact with our experienced engineers.
Overall, the event was a tremendous success, and we thank our event partners BMZ for their hard work in making this years Battery Experts Forum such a success. The quality of speakers offering tutorials, lectures and key notes was top, and the exhibition area offered a wide range of suppliers and products for all to browse.
Mark your calendars for next years event from 5-7 November 2024 at the Darmstadtium Centre, Germany.
