The VDE highlights of Hannover Messe 2024

With 4,000 exhibitors from 60 countries, Hannover Messe 2024 was once again a complete success. Chancellor Olaf Scholz opened the trade fair in a good mood. Under the motto "Energizing a Sustainable Industry", the world's leading trade fair for industry provided clear impetus for the transformation of business and industry - towards digitalized, climate-neutral and sustainable value creation. Although the VDE did not have its own stand this year, it was still present at the trade fair. The focus was on artificial intelligence, climate-friendly production, solutions for the energy transition and hydrogen as an energy source. Of course, the VDE was also there. Not with its own stand, but as a guest on numerous stages and stands. Here is a brief insight into the VDE highlights at Hannover Messe 2024.

Conference Stage Energy 4.0

The VDE was co-organizer of the Conference Stage 4.0 in Hall 12, Stand D 35 and was responsible for the content on Thursday. With over 450 visitors in total and an average of 40 visitors per presentation, the program was very popular. Frank Borchardt from the Network Technology/Network Operations Forum kicked things off with his presentation on "The state of the grids - stay flexible or will the last one turn out the lights?". Irem Alcioglu, project manager for hydrogen technologies at VDE, spoke about how the standardization roadmap for hydrogen technologies can accelerate the market ramp-up. This was followed by Alexander Nollau, Head of the Energy Department at VDE, who presented the DKE standardization roadmap in more detail, and Henrike Gördes from DKE with her presentation on "From direct current to digital standards - The All Electric Society at the DKE Innovation Campus 24".

All Electric Society Arena

The VDE was also present in the All Electric Society Arena in Hall 11, Stand C53. Here, Florian Spiteller, Head of External Relations & Support at DKE,  DKE President Dr. Kurt D. INVENT a CHIP

The Hannover Messe was a great opportunity for the winners of the INVENT a CHIP student competition to discuss prospects in the STEM field on a large stage and to inspire the student groups of the YourFuture young talent campaign for STEM. The variety of visions for the future presented at the fair inspired the students to create their own projects. They are excited to see which of these innovations they will be using in their everyday lives in 10 years' time.
