3. Purpose and legal basis of processing of personal data
Information is stored in our router when using VDEGUEST WI-FI. The following information is collected without any action on your part and is stored until it is deleted: The MAC address (Media Access Control address) of your device that is using VDEGUEST WI-FI as well as entry and exit times into and out of VDEGUEST WI-FI. The MAC address – also called ‘physical address’, ‘airport ID’, ‘Ethernet ID’ or ‘WI-FI address’ depending on the manufacturer – is the unique hardware address that enables the unique assignment of each device. Itis stored in the hardware, particularly in network cards in computers, telephones, laptops or access points.
The data mentioned above will be processed by us to ensure the smooth use of our VDEGUEST WI-FI within the scope of technical necessity and to detect, investigate and prosecute violations of the terms of use of our free VDEGUEST WI-FI.
Legal basis:
We process this data in accordance with Article 6 (1) p. 1 f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest comes from the purposes for data processing listed above, without violating the interests or basic rights of the data subject.
4. Storage period
The data in our router will be deleted after two months at the latest.
5. Cooperation with contract processors and third parties
As a matter of principle, your personal data is processed by us. VDE only transmits data to third parties when there is a corresponding legal basis; in particular, this is the case if consent has been given to such transmission to third parties, if this is required in order to perform a contract, or if this is necessary in order to comply with statutory requirements obliging us to provide information, report or pass on data.
In some cases, we use external service providers (order processors) to process your data. These have been carefully selected and commissioned by us, are bound by instructions and are checked regularly.
